Welcome to...

Thorin's Ambigram page!

Ambigrams are a mischievious form of visual art that I dabble in sometimes.  The term 'ambigram', coined circa 1984, means a word or phrase that can be rotated or reflected while retaining meaning.  Some ambigrams are symmetrical, meaning that they remain the same when rotated or reflected, while others produce different words.  Thus far, most of my efforts have utilized nothing more than pencil and markers, and are rather clumsy: you can see four examples below.  I've also created one ambigram using both manual and digital means, and I intend to get better at this.

In time, if my skill increases, I may start offering commisions on ambigrams from this page.
