When I was just a lad of ten, I frittered all the day

On console games like Paco, Pirate Prince of Paraguay.

That game engrossed me most of all, but one thing bothered me:

No matter what I tried I could not get past level three.

Four desk jobs and three girlfriends swirled amid the flashing haze.

No scolding words could penetrate my semi-sanity.

The music of my GameBoy hid the outside world from me.

And so it was ‘til I tracked down the game's head engineer.

I asked him why the way to beat that level was unclear.

“Well, sonny, I was underpaid, and that game was hard work!

To heck with levels 4 and up," he told me with a smirk:
